We also delved into the fascination with Ancient Egyptian culture and beliefs, including past lives and archaeological evidence. We welcomed Egyptologist Nick Brown. His excavation experience includes working at numerous archaeological sites throughout Egypt, including famous sites like the Valley of the Kings in Luxor and the ancient capital city of Amarna. Currently, he is the co-director of excavations at the site of Deir el-Ballas– an ancient royal palace and military outpost. Nicholas's research interests include royal funerals from the New Kingdom (think King Tut and Ramses the Great), as well as the use and perception of ancient Egypt within modern contexts.
We shared personal experiences and insights related to Egyptology, debunking myths about aliens and advanced civilizations in Ancient Egypt. We also talk about the importance of respecting cultural customs when visiting the Middle East, particularly for queer individuals.
