Egypt: Myths, Facts, & Mysticism - Queer from the Other Side Podcast
On this episode of Queer from the Other Side Podcast, we talk with Egyptologist Nicholas Brown about all things Egypt. His excavation experience includes working at numerous archaeological sites throughout Egypt, including famous sites like the Valley of the Kings in Luxor and the ancient capital city of Amarna. Currently, he is the co-director of excavations at the site of Deir el-Ballas– an ancient royal palace and military outpost. Nicholas's research interests include royal funerals from the New Kingdom (think King Tut and Ramses the Great), as well as the use and perception of ancient Egypt within modern contexts. We debunk Ancient Alien myths, talk about mysticism facts and fiction, and the effect Egypt has had on paranormal, supernatural, and spiritual ideals.
